Maddie
Achievements:
Aust Ch. Heathermist Commander – “Maddie” was a son of the great Aust. Ch. Ferngold Commodore.
Maddie was a delightful and loving dog to own, he was certainly a part of our family in every sense of the word. He had the most impeccable nature and he loved life to the max. He was always our chief puppy carer to all our litters, which he did to perfection (I don’t think anyone ever told him they weren’t his!)
He too loved the ring and amassed nearly 1000 Challenge Points some 63 C.C’s. He went on to win 3 Royal Challenges plus a Reserve Challenge, also a Reserve Challenge at a Golden Retriever Specialty, just to name a few of his memorable wins. He also was the father of many Show Champions.
At his very last Show outing in November 1998, he won “Best Veteran in Show” at the Golden Retriever Champ. Show of Victoria at the grand age of nearly 12 years old under breed specialist Mrs. Muriel Iles (UK)of Glennessa Kennels fame. A fitting finish to his wonderful show career.
As you can see in the picture above, “Maddie” is looking after one of our pups “Beaucroft Domain Chandon”. “Piper” was waiting to go to her new home. Maddie was aged 14 years at the time and Piper was 8 weeks old.
Maddie has now gone to “Rainbow Bridge”, but not a day goes by that we don’t think of him. He would be so pleased to be with his best mate…..his Dad!! “R.I.P. my Beautiful Boys” till we met again!
